Wildlife experts and environmentalists are sounding the alarm! Many of the once- abundant species of European mammals, reptiles, amphibians, fish, birds and insects are becoming extinct before our very eyes.

The phenomenon is comparable to what occurred over 65 million years ago when the dinosaurs disappeared off the face of the Earth. Except that now it is Man that is responsible for the extermination. So, this time, at least to a degree, we can limit the extent of the damage.

How are we to do this? Above all, we have to find out more about all the threatened species, to explain the causes of this phenomenon and explore what can be done to stop it happening.

"Animals in Danger" is an international documentary series: each coproducer will make 4 x 6’10'' items on animals in their country: three on endangered species + one item on a positive case/example (human intervention or on repopulation). Items will be suitable to be combined in a 26’ episode or broadcast individually.
