Public service broadcasters have committed themselves to reflect the multicultural and diverse character of our societies. Multicultural, multiracial and multifaith issues should be seen, heard and mirrored not only in current affairs programmes for and about minorities but also in every single programme. The Eurovision Intercultural Programme Exchange contributes to achieve that aim.

The exchange offers slot owners of programmes related to Europe in its diversity magazine items with a duration between five and nine minutes, which they are free to adapt to their own broadcast needs. The theme of the exchange changes every year, as decided by the Eurovision Intercultural and Diversity Group at its Plenary meeting in October.

The Intercultural Exchange 2007-2008 has two themes:
• "I did it" : portrayals of successful people coming from a minority background
• "Access to education" : children are sometimes  discriminated in national school systems just on the basis of their ethnical origins…
Participants: CT, HRT, MTV

The exchange itself takes place in May and is based on the principle "give one, take all".
