Russia has won the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest in Belgrade, Serbia, Saturday 24th May 2008.

Dima Bilan received 272 points for the song Believe written and composed by Dima Bilan & Jim Beanz. The winner claimed victory in Belgrade in front of a live audience of over 10,000 at the Belgrade Arena. 25 countries participated in the Final. 

The Final was transmitted live by 47 television broadcasters over the Eurovision network, and by 12 radio broadcasters over the Euroradio network, to Europe and beyond.
Viewers from the 43 countries who entered the competition were able to vote for their favourite song through a pan-European televoting system.

For the second time, the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest will be offered a promotional tour, “The Winner´s Tour”, and will travel to eight European countries. Between the 28th of May and 3rd of June, fans will be able to follow the winner on tour on www.eurovision.tv

The Eurovision Song Contest is watched by nearly 100 million people every year.
