The 6th Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Lemesos, Cyprus on 22 November 2008. The theme for this year's JESC will be ‘Fun in the Sun’. Sixteen members will take part in this friendly contest.

The aim of the Contest is to promote young talents in the field of popular music, by encouraging competition among the children performers.

All contestants must be aged 10 to 15 years old on the day of the contest. They must have written and composed their song themselves.

For the first time, the result is decided by 50% international televoting and 50% back-up jury. The televoting revenues will go to UNICEF, supporting their fantastic work across the globe.
