The third edition of a new format successfully produced and broadcast during the Christmas season 2011.

The Magic Circus Show is an entertainment show that will be recorded in the Christmas big top in Geneva at the end of November 2012, then broadcast throughout Europe and beyond over the Christmas season 2012.

The success of the 2010 and 2011 show has incited the EBU and the broadcasters involved to reconduct the show and to make of it a recurrent yearly event.

Children from different parts of Europe between the ages of 9 and 14 will perform different circus acts, bringing the rich and diverse traditions of Europe under one big tent. Jugglers, acrobats, trapeze artists, clowns and air gymnasts will be showing off their talent. All the acts are chosen in a thorough selection process in their respective countries. Each participating TV channel holds a casting session for children who perform circus acts, resulting in a selection of 2-4 acts per country. With the help of their teacher or coach, the artists then prepare their performances individually or together.

The gala show will be accompanied by the Magic Circus Show Orchestra. A special guest will be invited to be connecting element between the guests.

It's a magical performance for spectators and television viewers alike!

Some details about the format:
Behind the scenes: to help the audience get to know and love the various candidates. Each of the coproducing channels is welcome to produce a behind the scenes programme.
The show (approx. 90 minutes): each coproducing country will receive the show for broadcast on its channel.
