The adventure of THE STATION comprises both educational and scientific aspects and is also a television event.

THE STATION  is a great space-themed scientific television show whose purpose it is to send an amateur European astronaut to the International Space Station. S/he will be a special correspondent on board, going on the air live from space. S/he will also shoot a documentary about the flight and the stay. Last but certainly not least, s/he will conduct a series of experiments, developed by schools/classrooms across Europe and selected by a jury of scientists.

This adventure is played out over 12  months divided into three stages:

National selections:
Each participating EU country organizes a simultaneous national selection procedure. Candidates will undergo a range of tests. A jury (professionals and general public) will evaluate each candidate.

Final selections:
The winning representatives from each country will be taken to Star City. The winner will be revealed to the general public either at the very moment of take off, or while boarding the ISS, in order to maintain audience suspense.

The mission:
The flight in space on board of ISS.

Schools, colleges and universities will play a fundamental role in this programme.
The winning contestant will be both witness and on-board reporter.
