With the 50th Anniversary of the Treaty of Rome in March 2007, this television movie evokes, behind the reconciliation of a French woman and a German soldier fallen in love with each other during WWII, the first steps taken in the 50's toward the reconciliation of France and Germany and toward the creation of a modern and united Europe.

This movie is about a double reconciliation: that of two human beings, heart-broken by the misfortunes of time and crushed by the walls of incomprehension.

It is also the reconciliation of two countries, Germany and France, which have gone to war with one another three times since 1870, spreading all across Europe and the world horror, hatred and death.

Both reconciliations are a symbol in regards of the present times, because they show us that all the hatred in the world, no matter how old or how deadly, can always be overcome by intelligence and love.

This film, supported by France Televisions and presented to the EBU by France3, has been produced by Alchimic Productions.

Based on a scenario by Jean-Michel Gaillard, it was directed by Franck Apprederis (France).

The shooting took place in Paris and Vienna in September 2006. The delivery to the broadcasters involved started as of  February 2007 in French and/or international version.

The movie was broadcast on France 3, ORF2, RTLTVI, HU/MTV, RTP2 and Eurochannel in March and April 2007. It is also due to be broadcast soon on France 2, TV5, TVP, ERT, SK/STV, RTVSLO, RTP1 and TVR.
