The biological integrity of our planet is in danger.

Ruthless criminals are polluting our air, soil and water and threatening animal species. A new type of very special agents are at play!
Interpol created a special Environmental Police Unit to prevent and fight environmental crime: THE EPU - young, educated, resourceful - run by John de Burgo and Co.

Located in Berlin, the new unit boasts broad powers that can overrule national laws Europe-wide when 'green crimes' are committed and when big money puts little value on human life.

De Burgo & Co. is a series that follows an impulsive and instinctive environmental detective John de Burgo, his more analytically minded boss, Claudia Graf, and their dynamic young team of specialists whose job it is to control the ever-increasing spread of eco-crime throughout Europe.

An eco-crime is defined as an illegal act that endangers the environment, whether locally or worldwide. The crimes are divided into six overlapping categories: eco-terrorism, spread of man-made or natural diseases through illegal and criminal means, smuggling hazardous materials, dumping hazardous waste, trafficking protected natural resources such as animals and plants, homicides related to any or all of the above, etc.

The series will be produced by Magma Films, a German and Irish independent production company which occupies a strong niche position in the marketplace for the creation of high concept programmes.
