Generosity, sincerity, authenticity and integration : these are the values carried by this fresh and modern series. Dealing with contemporary issues, the series targets all adolescents between 11 and 18 but a broader family audience as well.

Heidi has grown up. Now an adolescent of 15, raised by a grandfather whose values and experience are well anchored in the nature that surrounds him, Heidi leaves her mountain for the very first time, to go to high school in the city.

There she will look at the urban young generation in a very new way. She will also discover the difficulties of confronting others, of facing authority, discipline and hypocrisy, of compromise, and the illusory world of fashion. And, of course, Heidi will discover the uncertainly of love!
In each of the 26 episodes of the series, Heidi will be confronted to a new conflict, which will teach her something new about life.
Between love and friendship, laughter and tears, music and sport, against a backdrop of alpine nature and urban cement, we will watch the birth of a new Heidi, defender of the values so sought after by our own society, and fascinated by the values that other ways of life may bring.

Targeted at a family audience, Heidi will interest all adolescents between the ages of 11 and 18, but will also be easily understood by younger children. The situations of the characters are neither shocking, nor difficult to understand. Most of the subjects center around school, family, friendship and love, but always in an intelligent way of thinking. Topics that could be ambiguous are suggested but not shown.
Coproduced by Dune (France) with the participation of France2 and by Rita Productions and TSR (Switzerland) , the series  will be directed by two talented Swiss directors : Pierre-Antoine Hiroz ("Premier de Cordée", "Mémoire de Glace", "La Grande Crevasse") and by Anne Deluz ("Agathe", "Bataille natale").

The shooting places were located in the French Alps (Haute-Savoie) and in the Swiss city of Fribourg (from June until October 2007).

The World Premier of "Heidi" took place on Wednesday, 31st October 2007, in the frame of the "Festival Cinéma Tout Ecran" in Geneva.

The series is currently being broadcast on TSR1 every Saturday at 20:10 and achieves very high market share audience above 30%.
