The Interactive TV Unit of Eurovision TV is currently finalizing the production of Heartbeat 1.0, a so-called cross-media management system for the Eurovision family of websites (Eurovision.tv, JuniorEurovision.tv and EurovisionDance.tv).

The web-based content management system is tailor-made for Eurovision events. Unlike most existing content management systems, Heartbeat can easily deploy content on various websites and provides central management of content for various distribution platforms, such as the website, on-demand multimedia facilities, and a mobile portal. In order to be in line with official websites of Eurovision events, Heartbeat can be utilized to develop the host broadcaster version in local languages.

Intranet facilities
Heartbeat also features intranet facilities, to serve the organizers of the Eurovision events and participating EBU members. As a separate module, the intranet has already been deployed for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest and, customized to specific needs, for the Creative Forum of the Eurovision Formats Network.

Timeline
Heartbeat is being developed based on specific needs of the production team behind the Eurovision family of websites, website statistics and is easily expandable. 
This is the preliminary timeline for the roll-out of Heartbeat.

• January 2008 – Launch of the new Eurovision.tv, based on Heartbeat;
• Early summer 2008 – launch of the new JuniorEurovision.tv based on Heartbeat;
• Late summer 2008 – launch of the new EurovisionDance.tv based on Heartbeat, and completion of the Eurovision family of websites.

Heartbeat is for internal use of Eurovision TV only. A more detailed document on Heartbeat will be made available in the first quarter of 2008.
