24hours Mozart was the television event of the Mozart Year 2006 - a tribute to Austria's greatest musical genius, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of his birth in 1756.

24hours Mozart sets out to repeat the enormous success of 24hours Bach 2000.

The live broadcast on 27 January 2006 via the Eurovision Satellite Network was a mixture of high-profile live transmissions from famous concert venues in Europe and China. Outstanding pre-produced concert recordings, documentaries, music features, short programmes, clips and more was completed the programme. The success of this ambitious TV project was assured by the appearance of the most prominent Mozart interpreters of our time and a multitude of international stars, and was backed-up by 33 broadcasters from all over Europe, China and Japan.

EBU Members who joined this project have an exclusive broadcasting right for the "24hours Mozart" Programme, until August 2006  in their territory.
