With the diversity of its shorelines and its many islands, the coastline is a fragile yet essential source of natural wealth.

The aim of this series, which prioritizes scientific popularization, is to explain the complexity of the issues surrounding the coastline, on both land and sea, and shed light on this amazing heritage.

Using satellite images that are as beautiful as they are eloquent, and interviews with scientists, this collection offers a journey to five locations chosen for their geographic, economic and cultural diversity, to highlight various ways of approaching sustainable development. The message is that the coastline is not merely a frontier between two different elements, but a living threshold, complex and constantly changing, at which both land and sea influence each other.
 
The films will provide an initial approach to the locations, a more or less subjective discovery, illustrated by daily events and accompanied by charismatic personalities working in their environment, before adding a scientific view of the phenomena observed.

This documentary series will focus on the following five coastlines:

• Atlantic: Mont Saint Michel (France)

• Mediterranean:The Venetian Lagoon (Italy), Nile Delta (Egypt)

• North Sea: Zuider Zee, the Scheldt estuary (The Netherlands)

• Arctic: Lofoten archipelago (Norway)
