What do the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico in 2010 and global warming have in common?

The latest international scientific research reveals that it is methane hydrates, these little-known gas molecules that are abundant in the ocean depths, that could represent the turning point of the world's climate in the next few years if urgent measures are not taken by the world's politicians.

Following the most relevant international research teams, Global warming: when methane surfaces will take us around the world to unveil scientific mysteries such as burning ice, permafrost melting and anaerobic life forms.

Between opportunities and threats, huge energy reservoirs and climate points of no return, this film will explore the huge potential of the enormous quantities of methane that are being released due to the ice melting, but also the threats that they represent for the world's climate and the global environment in general.

This is a little known scientific issue that is likely to hit the headlines in the next few years.

From the producer and the director of Chernobyl, a natural History.
