 "Second Planet" Trailer

Jules is visiting Earth for the first time and he's got work to do. His mission? Write a business plan for a sustainable planet, the “Second Planet”. His trip consists of visiting cities, meeting people - including visionary pioneers - identifying good and bad ideas, in short: finding inspiration and putting, as the story unfolds, good things into his “shopping basket” and bad ones straight into his “trash can”. Jules reflects on his research as he goes along and discovers that mankind created a complex system that has to be changed effectively to create a sustainable future.

Jules will be accompanied by Claire, his attractive young guide, who is representing the package of human emotions, good and bad ones. Furthermore Jules will be in constant contact with his personal and a bit clumsy accountant, who juggles numbers and charts to figure out if solutions are worthwhile and manageable.

Jules, Claire and the accountant are fictional. However, solutions, interview partners, experts, facts and figures are real and accurate. This set-up opens up a new perspective: Jules, as a first-time visitor to Earth, is without prejudice and does not take anything for granted. He might challenge gridlocked patterns and his comments are revealing, free of political considerations and correctness.

The young audience will like Jules’s simple questions and adults will enjoy their disarming simplicity. The film will thus reach an audience ranging from the uninformed to the expert, from idealistic school children to grown-up realists. And most importantly: It will make this broad audience think differently. Entertaining but still fact-based, dreamy but still truth-seeking, “Second Planet” takes its audience on an eye-opening trip to discover real stories about human failure and innovation, deadlock situations and change, ecological crises and the hope for a better future.

"Second Planet" is a Co-production by Condor Films (Zurich), Aircube Productions (Luxemburg) and Interscience Film (Berlin & Paris).Academy award-winner Condor Films has played a major role in shaping the Swiss film industry over the past six decades in commercials, corporate, TV, fiction and documentaries. "Second Planet" is part of Eurovision's Green on Air programme.
